Ahhhhhh outdoor with a laptop
Whoa I broke my between-post time limit T.T Good job for keeping it up Adam!
I have 45 mins to waste before class starts, so... Ahh ants on my keyboard!
Ok, being on a picnic table with a laptop is scary when that happens. Also, I replaced my cell phone with an older cell phone thus being able to text better! And I got a job/business! (which you all heard of by now) I am also wondering how awkward I would look right now. I cut my hair three weeks ago too.
On a completely different topic, the new roommates are pretty nice, and they're all pretty social too, except Johnny the Chinese math student.
And a bit sad about hearing how Adam was thinking of moving to the West. D: Is he still thinking about it? Although being closer to Peter is nice, you'll be away from the rest of us as well~ But I guess I shouldn't be making a conversation here.
What I should be doing is talk about other subjects. Like my job, since all you heard a little bit about it. I think I'll put a story about it here.
It was a beautiful day, a dark blue sky above, when we walked into Morty's. It's a pretty nice bar, with giant-sized chicken wings for sale on Mon and Thursday. I was with Seyong for some drinks, as he was in the mood for it that day, and we grab a seat. When we sit down, to my surprise, I'm greeted by one of my math friends, Jared, and his sister, sitting right beside us!
In a short time he tells me he's got a new job in the financial industry, and he offers to introduce me to a job. I think "Great!" and started thinking what kind of job it could be. A desk job any mathie can do? Or a techie job? He know what I can do so I thought it was one of these but I hold these questions, until later, when he introduces me to his "boss".
So I go over to Jared's house to meet with the boss, and she starts explaining the current financial crisis that befalls Canada, namely the debt cycle, which is pretty shocking but not unbelievable, and then she goes on to explain what they do, which is to help people with their debt problems.
She continues explaining exactly what they offer, and I keep thinking "wait, so what kind of job am I being offered here...?" And right when I was done absorbing most of what was said, she begins showing me how a real estate agency's company is structured, and then compares it to the structure of Primerica, the company.
Now that I think about it, that's one of the reasons it may look like a scam - it basically looks like a pyramid scheme.
I'm starting to sound too preachy so maybe I'm gonna stop for now, but mostly cuz I gotta go class starts in 10 mins, later!
Primerica, eh? Never heard of them. I started my own business with FHTM (Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing) about a year ago, and it sounds like it might be a little similar.
ReplyDeleteRunning your own gig can be fun, but it takes some serious motivation to get it to go anywhere.
